BPB is pleased to announce the appointment of Gerry Acher CBE as a non-executive director with effect from 1 August 2002.
Mr Acher, aged 57, was until 31 December 2001 a member of the Board of KPMG and the Senior Partner of its London office, having previously been UK Head of Audit and Accounting and Chairman of the KPMG worldwide Audit and Accounting Committee. He was Chairman of the Audit Faculty of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales from 1996 until 2001 and a Council Member for that period.
Mr Acher is currently a member of the DEFRA/DTI Advisory Committee for Business and the Environment, chairs their Company Reporting Working Party and is a Trustee, Member of Council and Senior Treasurer of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA). He is also a Vice Chairman of London First.
