BPB is pleased to announce the appointment of David Hamill as a non-executive director with effect from 26 January 2005.
Mr Hamill, aged 47, is currently an executive director of ICI and chairman and chief executive of the ICI Paints division, a leading international paint business with sales of over £2 billion and manufacturing sites in more than 25 countries.
Before joining ICI in December 2003, Mr Hamill had worked for Royal Philips Electronics for 17 years, latterly as president and CEO of Philips Lighting, having previously held a range of senior management appointments including president of Philips Lighting Asia-Pacific, where he was responsible for activities in China and Hong Kong.
He was born in Airdrie, Scotland and graduated from Strathclyde University with an honours degree in production engineering and management, and worked for Honeywell and General Instruments up to 1986.
The BPB Board now comprises six executive and six non-executive directors together with group chairman, Sir Ian Gibson.
